The Beaver is a story about a man (Mel Gibson) who is falling apart due to a deteriorating marriage and an almost bankrupt business. He is about to end his life when the puppet on his arm (a beaver) convinces him to stay alive. He then becomes so attached to the beaver that he lets it do the talking for him all the time.
